Troy University established a small campus in Tampa on MacDill AirForce Base in 1991. The Master of Science in Management and Master of Science in Public Administration programs were the first graduate degrees offered. In 2001 an additional off-base site was opened in South Tampa on South Dale Mabry Highway. The Master of Science in Counseling and Psychology program began in 2003. By April 2005 the site had outgrown its two-classroom campus and moved into the Bridgeport Center located at 5201 West Kennedy Boulevard, Suite 110. The new campus had its formal ribbon cutting on June 9, 2005. It is currently subdivided into nine offices and five classrooms and is located on the first floor of the office complex. The Master of Science in International Relations and Master of Business Administration programs were added to the West Shore campus making a total of five onsite graduate courses offered in the Tampa Bay area.
